Award winning photographer Daniel Beltra joined the crew of the Greenpeace ship 'Esperanza' for the 2007 Defending the Whales expedition to the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary. This is his story of the expedition, of the beauty and power of the oceans and of the unusual events that occurred in the icy Antarctic waters.
